Ambient Air Curtain

Unheated or ambient air curtains are used in environments where the prevention of heat loss in doorways and entrances is required, and where the temperature is not a particular concern. Ambient air curtains do not provide additional heating, instead, they act as a thermal barrier to prevent heat from escaping from indoor environments. Conversely, they can be used in cold store applications keeping cold in and warm air out.

Industrial ambient air curtains are used to prevent cold draughts and ensure comfortable heating indoors, with low energy consumption. By creating an air barrier, they are capable of minimising energy loss and contributing to cost savings. Typical applications include refrigerated storage and display facilities whereby maintaining airflow is a priority and additional heating is not required.
