Large buildings often face seasonal challanges of requiring heating in winter and cooling in summer to ensure that the temperature inside falls within a range conducive to the efficiency and comfort of staff. Traditionally these needs would be served by using heating equipment in winter and separate cooling equipment in summer.

Heat pumps use not only perform both the heating and cooling functions but they do so much more efficiently than the heaters and cooling equipment that they would typically replace.
