VEAB’s rectangular ATEX-approved electric duct heaters are designed for safe and efficient air heating in hazardous environments such as Zone 1 and Zone 2, where explosive gases or vapours may occasionally occur. With outputs up to 1000 kW, these heaters are ideal for duct systems, air handling units, and industrial processes in the offshore, chemical, oil, and marine sectors.
Constructed from durable stainless steel (EN 1.4301) or acid-resistant stainless steel (EN 1.4404), the heaters offer IP66 protection and comply with EN 60529 standards. The tubular heating elements are available in stainless steel or Incoloy (800/825) for maximum corrosion resistance and reliability. Models like the VFL2-Ex feature removable heating magazines for easy maintenance without dismantling duct sections.
Key features include:
• Output range: 1–1000 kW
• Temperature class T3 (max 200 °C)
• Equipment category 2G for gas/vapour zones
• IP66-rated protection
• Max outlet temperature 40 °C
• Ambient temperature range: –50 °C to +40 °C
• Minimum air velocity: 2.5 m/s
• Horizontal or vertical installation
• Integrated overheating protection and temperature limiter
The Ex eb terminal box (EN 60079-7) and Ex db/Ex mb protection (EN 60079-1) ensure safe electrical operation in explosive atmospheres. Cable entries with IP66 or higher must be used for full compliance.
These ATEX-certified rectangular duct heaters provide robust, customizable heating solutions that combine safety, performance, and long-term reliability in hazardous environments.
VFL2 ATEX electric duct heaters
The VFL2 ATEX electric duct heater range features external duct connection flanges. The design retains the terminal box outside the duct so that the airflow through the ducting is as uninteripted as possible. The VFL2 EX units have the elements mounted on a removeable cassette, which means that the removal and maintainance of the elements does not require the disasembaly of the ducting.
