Suspended Electrostatic Air Cleaners

Suspended Electrostatic Air Cleaners (SEACs) are air cleaning systems that are typically mounted on ceilings or hanging structures. These devices use a technology called electrostatic precipitation to clean the air in places where traditional floor-mounted or duct systems cannot be used. They are commonly found in areas where it is important to remove airborne particles without taking up space on the floor.

The operation of suspended electrostatic air cleaners involves several steps. First, air enters the system through vents located on the sides or bottom. Next, as the air moves through an ionization zone, the particles become electrically charged. These charged particles are then attracted to the collector inside the unit, which has an opposite charge, effectively trapping them. Finally, the cleaned air is released back into the room via the fan.

Common uses for SEACs include warehouses and factories, where they capture dust and particulates; office spaces, which benefit from improved air quality without taking up valuable space; retail and hospitality environments, enhancing air quality in stores, hotels, and entertainment venues; and educational facilities, ensuring cleaner air in classrooms and lecture halls.
