Split air conditioners have two main parts; the internal unit is the part that delivers the cool air whilst the external unit (the condenser) discharges the excess heat. The air conditioner has its two elements connected by a pair of copper pipes which are usually in a plastic sheath.

This feature means that these air conditioners can be fitted by electricians or even those skilled at DIY tasks. The other advantage of these air conditioners is that if the system can be easily reinstalled if you move house or office.
