In a nutshell...
-
Most cars in UK these days have a
pollen filter (cabin filter) that cleans the air that comes through the
car's ventilation system
-
Pollen filters don't often get changed by
garages, particularly on older cars
-
Pollen filters loose their efficiency after a
while and can block and buckle. This can;
-
Let in dusty air, often picking up
dust from the filter itself (dust re-entrainment)
-
Restrict air flow for ventilation
and cooling
-
Make demisting very slow
-
Damage the fan through overwork and
dust in bearings
-
Make the air smell
-
For most models we can offer a
choice between a standard pollen filter that catches dust, and a upgrade
pollen filter that catches both dust and fumes (including most
outside smells and harmful gases)
-
Everybody deserves better air in
their car. Some people, for instance asthmatics and hay fever sufferers,
really need it! (check out the health page)
-
We recommend that you know your
pollen filter and change it yourself. Only then can you be certain its
been done
-
It’s easy, its cheap. It’s a
'can do' thing. Have a look at the dummies guide
What next?
| 1. |
Find out if your car has a pollen filter. Look your model up using
the select filter by vehicle model. This will tell you if your car should have a
pollen filter and
that we have an upgrade replacement. |
| 2. |
Once you have found your make and model, you should
also get fitting guidelines with on the page. Using these, it is a good
idea to check your car has a pollen filter holder first, as sometimes
manufacturers skimp on this item for economy variants of a model. (has
been known with Audi and Volvos). If this is the case, you could buy a
pollen filter holder kit from your local relevant car dealership. |
| 3. |
So far so good, you can either order on line,
telephone us and order with your credit card or you may want to send your
order with card details or a cheque.
|
| 4. |
Maybe your car is not listed, or we don't have a
pollen filter to fit it or we might not have a specific fitting guide.
-
Using what information you have on your car and our
fitting for dummies page, and general fitting guidelines, you can at
least determine if your car is fitted with a pollen filter or not
-
Once you have found your old pollen filter, measure it
(outside frame dimensions, not including seals etc.) and take a note of
any maker names and part numbers on it. Come back to us we still may be
able to find an upgrade for you. We can cross reference part numbers, or
search on size.
